Opening Ceremony: includes opening prayer, group announcements, prayer requests etc. Picturing America: This comprehensive program, which is adapted for all age groups, explores various works of art through history, geography, and literature. Science: Various concepts will be explored through experiments, hands-on activities and mini unit studies. PE: The focus will be on improving physical fitness, developing team work, and understanding basic nutrition. Potpourri: Various subjects will be explored including but not limited to: ‘all about me’ projects; nature/animal studies, historical characters, maritime themes, weather and more.

Field trips (last Friday of the Month unless otherwise noted):

Community Service Projects: Scheduled for fall and spring semesters will be announced at the orientation/registration day on Aug. 6th.

Other events: End of the year talent/promotion ceremony, complete battery state testing in the spring, science fair, family day, field day, holiday parties, mom's night out events etc.  Further information will be handed out on Aug. 6th.

Dress Code:  A dress code has been put in place to allow for and to encourage participation in group activities.  All members must wear the ECHO t-shirt (ordered at registration), pants/shorts, tennis shoes and socks to all meetings, activities and events unless otherwise noted.  This will make member identification easier when we are out in the community and will also help to alert parents of persons in close proximity to our children that should not be there.

The ECHO board is very excited about the change this fall.  A lot of hard work has gone into its' planning this summer and we're hopeful that you'll take this leap of faith with us.  Over the last year or so, we've listened to your suggestions about the changes (time/day, location, activities etc.)  that you'd like to see for 2009-2010 and we hope that we've managed to incorporate some of them.  ECHO is, has been and will continue to be a work in progress.  Your continuing support and willingness to try new things has led us to this new adventure.

**** Mark your calendars: Thursday, August 6th, 2009: ECHO Orientation/Registration Day @ Centerview Baptist Church from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.
